AWANA clubs teach the gospel of Christ to children from preschool through high school. Throughout the program, children are rewarded for memorizing Bible verses and completing character building activities.
Younger children learn through games, crafts, and puppets, which are wonderful learning tools for this age. As they grow, children are introduced to small group interaction, community outreach, apologetics and life application of the gospel.
The AWANA Name:
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15 – Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Learning and Growing with AWANA:
AWANA clubs typically meet weekly. Sessions are run by individuals with a passion for sharing their faith with children. Each AWANA club is a ministry of the church which sponsors it and follows the AWANA approved curriculum. Uniforms are available for the older kids, and the younger children wear vests.
AWANA offers fun, friendship and serious Christian teaching that supports the teaching children are receiving at home and church. Living their faith can be difficult for children, especially as they grow. AWANA provides a comfortable place to learn and grow along with peers who share their faith.
AWANA also reaches out to unchurched youth, providing them with an enjoyable and comfortable introduction to Jesus. AWANA is an excellent choice for parents who would like their children to learn Christian values while participating in a club.
This coming Wednesday Night is
STUFFY NIGHT!!!!
What does that mean?
Well, it’s really quite simple:
Clubbers can gain some extra points for themselves and their team
by bringing a stuffed animal/toy/etc!
Restrictions? Some:
1) If your child would literally die without their stuffy if they/you forgot it here,
send them with something else!
2) Kids must remember that they shouldn’t be playing with their stuffy during lesson time or gym time. They’ll have a chance to share about their stuffy.
Again, we will be taking a group photo of all clubbers at the
end of the night for our year-end slideshow.
For those parents that have opted out of their kids’ photo-usage,
please remind your little ones that they are being protected, not excluded.
We are also starting our yearly food drive in support of Feed Niagara.
We are looking to exceed Commander Bobby’s body weight in food items
to help those less fortunate in St. Catharines.
(Exact weight to beat will be announced at tomorrow’s club.)
